Intercultural Awareness Certificate


All DMU undergraduate students are eligible to apply for this opportunity. The maximum number of places is 30, and the minimum number of students required is 15 for the programme to go ahead. Please check our eligibility criteria for further details.


Develop news skills and become an engaged global citizen by taking part in the Intercultural Awareness Certificate. This opportunity will enhance your intercultural awareness and knowledge of global issues through a range of activities throughout the academic year. Activities include:

  • Workshops
  • Intercultural volunteering and activities
  • Reflection and graduation
  • Intercultural awareness trip (subject to approval)

You can apply for this opportunity using the apply now button below. The application deadline is Monday 26 October at 9am.

You will receive the outcome of your application by email within 14 days of the opportunity deadline closing. If you are offered a place, you will need to complete the following steps to formally accept your place:

  • Submit some additional details to help us better meet your needs and accept the student agreement, the terms and conditions of your experience.
  • Pay your £30 participation fee through the DMU Online Store. You will be asked to pay this fee by the specified deadline. This commitment fee covers the cost of all activities, and will act as a deposit for the proposed overseas trip in June 2021, subject to approval. If you withdraw from the programme this payment is non-refundable.
