Teach English as a Foreign Language (TEFL)
Due to social distancing guidelines and the wider impact of COVID-19 we have decided that all aspects of the February TEFL course will take place online.
Eligibility
This opportunity is open to all DMU students. No formal qualifications or experience are necessary but students must be native-level speakers of English. Please check our eligibility criteria for further details.
About
Gain an internationally recognised qualification and open up a range of new opportunities for you to teach English abroad. A TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) course equips you with the skill set and knowledge to teach English to non-native speakers all over the world. Through DMU Global you could study:
50-hour TEFL Course
This course is provided by DMU Global and delivered by The TEFL Org. It includes a 20-hour online classroom-based module and a 30-hour online grammar module.
To gain the qualification, you will need to complete both parts of the course. This means that you will first be required to attend and pass the online 20-hour classroom-based module. This module will start at 9am and end at approximately 8pm on both days (includes breaks), and includes lots of interactive and practical activities. You can then complete the remaining 30 hour online grammar course at your convenience, but this part must be completed by the completion deadline specified for your course.
Once you have completed your course, you could put your new skills into practice by working in local schools with DMU Local or, in the future, volunteering overseas with DMU Global.
