Campus activities and events

The Student Union of Oulu UAS, better known as OSAKO, is a service and support organisation for all students of Oulu UAS. All students are warmly welcome to join OSAKO’s teams to plan these student-led activities. OSAKO has currently about 4,000 members. All members get a student card, which entitles them to a remarkable amount of local and national benefits.

ESN Oulu focuses on organising free time activities for international students in Oulu.

Travel and Accommodation

It is recommended that you purchase your flights to Oulu once you have your Letter of Acceptance. You can get to Oulu by flying first to Helsinki, and then to Oulu Airport. There are regular bus connections between the Oulu city centre and the airport.

Incoming exchange students who are going to study at Oulu UAS can apply for student accommodation from the Northern Finland Student Housing Foundation PSOAS. You can apply for housing through the website of the Northern Finland Student Housing Foundation PSOAS.

Exchange students are encouraged to apply for housing as early as possible, as Oulu UAS’ housing quota for exchange students at PSOAS residences is limited.

Fees and costs

Whilst studying at Oulu University of Applied Sciences, you do not need to pay any tuition fees. However, some universities charge small fees for the use of facilities such as the Students’ Union. If you have any queries about any these charges, we recommend that you speak directly with the host university. You will be required to pay for the following: accommodation, health insurance (European students are eligible for free European Health Insurance Card) and books. Students accepted on Erasmus may also be eligible to receive the Erasmus+ grant.
