Campus activities and events

The Students Union, METKA, arranges a range of  activities supporting the student experience and well being. METKA arranged activities include excursions, day trips, student groups and guest lectures. Furthermore, students can try out more than 30 different sports, as well as fitness classes that include kick boxing, Latin dance and yoga.

Travel and Accommodation

It is recommended that you purchase your flights to Helsinki once you have your Letter of Acceptance. When you arrive at Helsinki Airport it is possible to take a bus to your accommodation or simply take a taxi.

Exchange students are able to secure their accommodation with the Foundation for Student Housing in the Helsinki Region (HOAS). You should only apply to live in Accommodation as an exchange student only after you receive your Letter of Acceptance. Fees and costs

Whilst studying at Helsinki Metropolia University Applied Sciences, you don’t need to pay any tuition fees. However, some universities charge small fees for the use of facilities such as the Students’ Union. If you have any queries about any these charges, we recommend that you speak directly with the host university. You will be required to pay for the following: accommodation, meal plan, health insurance and books. Students accepted on Erasmus may also be eligible to receive the Erasmus+ grant.
