Singapore is one of the most multi-cultural, business and finance orientated city-states. It also plays host to one of Formula 1’s most sensational night races, which brings to the city commerce, tourism and further enhancement of globally recognised brands. We will be visiting local businesses as well as attending the race weekend in order to observe the various businesses that take part in the event as vendors.
The academic activities for this trip will include visiting businesses within Singapore that are permanent members of the economic landscape, as well as other pop-up businesses that are driven (pardon the pun) by the arrival of Formula One and supporting motorsport races within September. We intend to visit business incubators to really understand the growing start-up culture that can be found in Singapore.
Students will have the opportunity to enjoy the diverse culture of Singapore including it’s museums, architecture and historic venues. There is also the opportunity to enjoy the night races on the streets of Singapore, which is a spectacle not to be missed. Given the variety of race ticket options available, students will have flexibility to choose the ticket right for their budget.
