This opportunity gives eligible students the exciting opportunity to undertake a four-week work experience at the lingerie manufacturer, Clover Group, followed by study on the Intimate Apparel programme at Hong Kong Poly University for three weeks. You will work and study alongside local people, gaining valuable insight into the business practices, life and culture of Hong Kong. This could be a way for you to gain new skills and knowledge which will both boost your CV and give you substantial experience in an international setting.
This opportunity is linked to Professional Practice component of CONF3100 in Level 6 in which students report back on their work experience over the summer or from their sandwich year of work placement.
While in Hong Kong, students will have time to absorb the region’s culture and engage in a variety of cultural experiences. Students are encouraged to take a boat tour to explore Hong Kong’s world-famous harbour and to get the best views of the city take the Peak Tram to Victoria Peak.
Also, when the sun goes down, you will have the chance to visit the Temple Street Night Market, a popular street bazaar, named after a Tin Hau temple located in the centre of its main drag, and a place so steeped in local atmosphere that it has served as the backdrop to many a memorable movie.

Travel and accommodation
Flights for this opportunity will be booked independently by the students. Accommodation will be arranged in Hong Kong Poly University Halls of Residence and the students will be responsible for booking and paying for this accommodation, however practical advice is available from ADH staff.
In order to participate in this trip, you are responsible for ensuring that you meet Hong Kong immigration requirements.
It is likely that the students will require some kind of visa to take part in this study and internship in Hong Kong. Further information will be provided to the accepted students at pre-departure briefings, regarding the type of visa required and how to apply. If a visa is required, you are responsible for applying for one and ensuring that you do so with sufficient time to receive the visa prior to departure. Please be aware that immigration decisions are made by individual embassies.
